Though I haven't gone to the office yet, the experiences on this forum about the general environment at the SRO office paint a very grim picture of the office. Kindly advise from your experience what could I do get the work done WITHOUT PAYING A BRIBE. Thanks, Deepak

Dear Sir and Madam, I do understand that bribery in the government sector is the major focus of this portal and tackling that is the main action taken by you. If any corporator is asking for bribe from citizens to resolve a local sewage issue in North Bangalore, where do I report? IPaidABribe or Ichangemycity?
You can file a complaint giving all the details of the case, along with documentary and digital evidence, if any, to the Lokayukta Karnataka

Dear Malati and Ramesh, I must congratulate both of you for spearheading this noble venture, and IPaidABribe in bringing out the voices of citizens against bribery , which the crowd-sourced information shared on the portal has been providing seamlessly. However, I would like to know whether the element of bribery in the public departments with a high prevalence of corruption have any positive or negative correlation to the rate of service delivery ? If so, can you site an example
Thank you Mark for appreciating our work. There is always a negative correlation between the public departments with a high prevalence of corruption and the rate of service delivery. The IPaidabribe website is replete with examples, link:-Thank you Mark for appreciating our work. If the police man asked for a bribe to you , and you gave that police man a bribe , then the matter is taken to court, whom will be arrested and why ?
Firstly, you do not have to pay a bribe to a policeman. If you are able to file a complaint against the policeman and if a prima facie case is made out against the policeman, then he will be arrested. In case it is established that the citizen has paid the bribe, in order to obtain an illegal favour, then the citizen will be arrested. However, anti-corruption laws vary from country to country and everything would depend on the law of the land.

Does India have any specific anti-corruption law?
India has a law, namely, the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988, which deals with corruption by public servants in all spheres of public service. That would also include trade and customs.
