The requirements for an indian visa extension are as follows: Project visa is granted to foreign nationals coming to India with regard to a project. For execution of a project in the power and steel sector is subject to fulfil the requisite conditions. The foreigners coming on ‘Project’ visa will have to register himself/herself with the FRRO/FRO concerned within 14 days of arrival, if the visa validity of visa is for more than 180 days. If the visa validity is 180 days or less, registration would not be required.
Required Documents:
- Original valid Passport and Visa
- Though, from the date of arrival, the departure would be within 14 days when entered on fresh visa still the process of Registration is compulsory
- Prescribed registration and extension forms. (To be filled on computer terminals at this office)
- Four passport size photographs. (4cm × 4cm Colour photo with white background, ears distinctly visible, without spectacles and caps)
- Resident permit book available at office for Rs 25/-
- Copies of passport (photo page) and (page indicating validity), page bearing arrival stamp of Indian Immigration
- Copy of Indian visa
- Terms and conditions of the contract of assignment including salary position and tenure of employment
- Undertaking in the prescribed format on the letterhead of the company, duly signed by authorised signatory mentioning name and contact number, taking responsibilities of the foreigner during his / her stay in India and to repatriate the foreigner at their cost if situation arose
- Copy of Indian passport / copy of election card of a person signing undertaking
- Copy of P.A.N card and Income tax papers for current assessment year (at the time of Visa Extension)
- Forwarding the Letter of Concern by the company with specific reason for extension. (Duly Signed by authorised signatory mentioning name & telephone and mobile number)
- The copy of the intimation to the local Police station, if the applicant is residing in Private House/Flat in a building/Society as a Tenant/Paying guest
Apart from the afore mentioned documents, additional supportive documents can be asked for in certain cases.
