The constable who does the rounds to check whether our postal address, etc is actually in place simply dropped off a note that asked us to bring certain original documents to the police station and ********** a certain officer. The officer on duty saw all our papers were in order, but insisted on my father-in-law returning with yet another document that was listed as "optional" on the notice board behind him. To which he added, please also bring a little something for me. My father-in-law chose to go through with his request instead of dealing with a botched passport procedure that could come back to harm me / my future.
