Renewal jitters

I was told that I cannot submit the Tatkal application for renewal because the spellings of my father don't match in all the 3 requisite documents. But the same was ALL OKAY if I paid 3000 bucks (thru the agent). I had to travel to the US on a business visit and had no option, BUT to pay what was demanded. Felt extremely guilty but US tickets were booked and cancellation would have costed me a bomb. Somewhere, I do blame myself and somewhere, its the system too...
