Reported on January 23, 2014 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #39108

Hi,
I bought an apartment 7 years back.Applied for khata at Bommasandra panchayath in Bangalore but clerk asked for Rs5000/- (whichas per him included Rs.1500/- tax and remaining "expenses"). I did not pay, but continued to follow up. Two times clerks "misplaced" the file and asked me to reapply. In 2011 I applied again and got the seal and signature of receiving clerk acknowledging the application. When they again "misplaced" it I decided to apply through sakala program of Karnataka government, last month.
Clerk told me I was the first person to apply for Khata through sakala in his office and he had no idea about how to process it through sakala website.I had to contact sakala office and the officer asked clerk to enter it through sakala, which he obliged.within 30 days ,today I received the khata certificate.I feel really happy and proud!

Documents asked by panchayath were: 1.passportsize photo of owner(me)2.Photo of the building 3. latest encumbrance certificate 4. Approved Building plan 5. approved layout plan 6.sale deed
7.latest tax paid receipt.
For people planning to apply for Khata I would encourage them to this initiative of the government. If clerks show reluctance to take your application through sakala please feel free to contact sakala helpline on 080 44554455
