Got mine in Rs80!!

Reported on October 14, 2015 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #79089

I decided to get the learner's license on my own and so I had prepared the required documents. I approached the Jayanagar RTO office. Then, of course I hadn't read on the process for the learner's license and was petrified when asked to immediately give a written exam once I got the signatures from the concerned authorities in the RTO.

I was made to sit and give a written test. As I sat I noticed a line of people to get into the next room. Thinking I was mistaken, I quickly joined the line. However, an officer who was checking people's application and making details of their application, made me sit down again. The written test was mostly situational and Government and Rules test. The answers in the question papers were marked to add to the confusion.

While I gave the test, I noticed that the ones who had come through the agent, din't have to give any written test and were directly sent to the Sign and Signals test. That's when I understood the corruption and disparity. I did not pass the written test due to the pass criterion of 10 out of 15 questions need to be right. There were also candidates who were allowed to go for the Signal's test and get their learner's license the very same day.
