No bribe, no business
My brother supplies various goods and his customers include nationalized companies. He filled up a tender for supply of stuff worth Rs 2.50 lakhs from National Hydel Power Corpn. (NHPC) but was invited "for negotiations". The "negotiator" told him to over-bill by Rs 40,000 and give him this amount in advance. My bro refused. The tender, of course, never came through. NHPC doesn't send him any tender notices now. My bro says he'd rather eat dry chapaties with salt than pay these pirates.
