I was with a friend driving back to the home after having only a couple of round of light drinks. Although it seemed to us that we can completely drive our car, we were stopped by a traffic police checkpost and asked to take the breath-analyser test. We failed the test (which I have no idea about, in terms of the numbers appearing on the screen of that device). He asked for various papers like licences, RC, Insurance and we had all of them. But since we failed the breathing test, officer resorted to booking us for the offense. I would be honest but I tried to bribe the officer but he refused it even after my insistence. I was shocked and surprised at the same time. While he was booking us writing down all the details, something happened which I think is worse than bribing.
Another of his colleague, a fairly old fellow stopped another car. The guy got down from the car and told the officer not to touch him. Officer backed off, and this guy started calling someone on his cell phone. He told the officer to talk to this person on the other side of the phone which he did. Once done, this dude-with-the-phone was let off the hook even though he also failed the alcohol breath analyser test.
My question is, that is this site taking into consideration this unacceptable behaviour of the Old police officer. Had it been better if I had used my contacts to get off the booking and what about those common people then who do not have the contacts. Is this form of bribing acceptable to us ?
