Me and 4 of my friends were going on a North India Bike Trip from Bangalore to Delhi in Train and then from there on Road. We were 5 of us and we had 3 bikes and we booked the tickets in tatkal 2 days before the journey and after booking the tickets we went to the Luggage Office and asked them that how much will it cost me to take 3 bikes after 2 days they told you guys come on the day of the journey we came like 10 hours before the train timing and asked they still told that come 2 hours before the train timing so we again waited and then 2 hours before the train timings they saw the bikes and told u will need to pack the bikes so we found some guy there only who packs bikes he charges Rs.100 for packing each bike and then after packing we took it to the Luggage office they said it will cost us about Rs.2500 for each bike where as the actual rate is hardly Rs.1485 for each bike and then after lots of arguments we had to pay them because they knew that we had no other option since our train was to leave in less than 2 hours so we paid them in the office and got out and started going towards the luggage dubba then again an officer stopped us and asked us the remove the complete packing of the bike as he wanted to check if there is any petrol in it or not so we again had to pay him Rs.100 to pass the inspection and then once we kept our bikes near the dabba and waited for the bikes to be loaded on the train, the loading ppl told that us that since there is already allot of other stuff in the dubba and no space for the bikes to be loaded we will get the bikes one by one in delhi in the next one week with no specific timing,etc well as was we had no intentions of leaving our bikes there and wait for a week in delhi for the bikes to arrive and stay in hotels and waste our time and money so we had to negotiate with them also and after like 30 mins of bargaining we had to pay Rs.300 Per Bike to be loaded in the train and so it would be travelling with us and we would get it in a few hours after we reach Delhi and again after reaching delhi we had to pay around Rs.100 to get it unloaded as soon as possible from the train or else wait for a day or two. Me and my friends covered Amritsar, Jammu, Kullu, **********, Shimla, Dehradun, Masoourie, Rishikesh, Haridwar & Agra. We were planning to cover more locations like Sree nagar and leh but had to cutt down the trip a few days short as allot of our cash went in bribes and then we even had to save an equal amount for the train trip back from Delhi to Bangalore and again we had to pay almost around that much while coming from Delhi too :)
