I had transported my bike via train four times. Kanpur, Nizamuddin-Delhi , Aligarh and Allahabad.After knowing what to do, I didnt have a hard time in the last two attempts as I didnt have to depend on the touts bacause I had done it several times.Also the sardarji officer behind the window at Kanpur was surprisingly helpful.Getting the same thing done at Bangalore turned out to be quite a nightmare. When I came to Bangalore (SBC) I had to bribe the Police guys just to take my bike outside the station apart from the parcel clerk who wanted some money for me to take delivery of the vehicle.I was to return from Bangalore to Delhi last week.Officials/clerks behind the luggage booking counter deliberately sent me away so that a tout could do the same and ask for money after I refused to pay 300 extra on the window and said lunch time at 11amThe tout took 500 over the bill and got it done in 5 mins itself.Probably shared it.Later came the loading guy. He asked for 500 took just for loading as my bike (Bullet) is a heavy bike and threatened to not load if I don't pay.Hence I paid thinking the last of my expenses were done with.I reached the station to leave te same day,I had already already shelled enough when to my horror the loading guys said I didnt pay enough. When I tried to load it with my friends they manhandled us. With barely 10 mins for the train to leave they asked for 500 more to load which I gave and they literally threw it in and said be happy we didnt see it off and walked away laughing in my face. GRP guys standing there said dont mess and just go take your train.I was travelling to New Delhi, shifting permanently hence it was not viable for me to stand and fight where a nexus is already established while I stand alone.I noticed how rampant the practice is that all of them had the guts to do it in the open as if it were fair plain business.I find it utterly disgusting.
