The agents/brokers tell you very bluntly that unless you pay the bribe, the property will not get registered. There is just no way to avoid it. On top of the 20000 that goes to the officers, the dummy who sits there to get your thumb impression takes Rs 100 as well. What happens if you don't give it? Well, your documents might end up in trash never to be found again!!!!
