I bought a moterbike. For get the motorbike registered it is common convention here to bribe the officials of RTO. As this has become a regular thing among pubilc, the showroom, agents and other sellers who get the vehicles registered on behalf of their client pay a regular fixed amount to the RTO officials.
In a raid, last year, by anti corruption beauru revealed an amount of RS.12 crore on spot. Though the officials did not stop taking bribe but they would ask all the documents as per rules and THE BRIBE too. So now everybody who buys a vehicle has to submit all the documents and bribe too. The bribe charges is included in the cost of bike, so this is noticable that there is no seperate bribe for vehicle but its a deal with the officials to clear the bikes for lumpsump.
The officials can reject any valid document if they are not given the due amount. In fact it is the tactic to charge more form the customers.
