Correction of Name Error in Sale Deed
The sub-registrar of Triplicane took 4000 from me for a name error correction. The Sale Deed was registered in 2007 with an error in name. The letters in the name "RA" was wrongly typed as "AR". A deed of rectification was lodged for registration. The seller was also present. There is no transfer of property. it was just a correction in name. The stamp duty paid was Rs.100 and the registration charges was Rs.150. I live in Mumbai and do not have the time and capacity to fight through. Had to pay the bribe demanded. The amount was negotiated from Rs.10,000 down to Rs.4,000. The lady also told that she paid Rs.25 lacs to come to the job and thus was trying to justify her act. She also said someone paid 50,000 in the morning and thus told us that what she was asking us was reasonable
