Had to bribe Police constable for passport verification

The police constable came to my apartment and instead of asking for me, told the building watchman to contact him on his mobile phone and also come to Powai Police Station. I went to the police station where he asked me few questions for name sake. Then asked to come to a tea shop in front of Police station, for some 'chai pani'. This was a good indication of what he wanted. We had a cup of tea and I gave him Rs 200 which he wrapped in his handkerchief. I had to pay this, if not the verification report would have been negative and my application would have been definitely refused.
