It was indeed my fault

Reported on March 1, 2011 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #28297

I was en route to a friends place for drinks with 4 ppl in the car including myself. My fault was that my number plate was not screwed in the front. Strictly due to car being at garage for a month and them not having power to use the drill to fix it that day. However, like my title says, it was indeed my fault cuz I had no number plate in the front, a learner's license(4w) but no L-Board, expired insurance, expired emission. He said I'd have to pay about 1400/-. I told him that as per rules, he could give me a week to provide the documents, he then was a bit zonked and negotiated the amount down to 200/-(his mistake) Upon insisting that I had no money and all I had was 130/- he said okay give it to the inspector who was standing next to us the whole time listening to the negotiation.

Had I been a layman who did not know the rules of the land w.r.t the 4 wheelers, he'd have definitely taken about 1300 rupees from me and left holes in my pocket.
