I think bribing police for passport verification purpose is the most common thing in our country.Even if all the papers and documents are correct,they ask for money and we give it so that they do all the work and processes it faster.I gave a bribe of Rs.1500 for my verification to the Police.I can't think of any other way of avoiding this.May be there should be a website where the police and the person being verified sit together and fill all the details and then just submit it.Once it is submitted,there is no worry if the police will playaround with your case.
