I was asked to pay some "kharcha paani" to register a request for my lost driving licence. I had all the documents, affidavit and photocopy of my license. First, they made me run around because the concerned person was off on election duty without assigning anyone on the duty. The "Thana Prabhari" and female desk clerk who initially spoke in bengali giggled and they deserved something for such routine tasks.

Well, I didn't pay them but they took it later from my a person who went to collect the documents.
