Passport Verification Bribe

This was given for passport verfication. After requesting us to fill a form which was available only in Kannada( we cannot follow Kannada script although we can speak Kannada reasonably well after having stayed in Bangalore for 10 years) the official sitting to the right of the main officer looks at us and asks us service charges for filling the form. I had heard that this request would be made from my friends who had been to the police before before me. I picked out Rs 200 and gave it to him. He further said we have to pay Rs 100 more. We paid the said amount. I felt miserable when I did that would like to be part of this initiative...to help our country progress!!!
