You do not pass the passport verification unless you bribe

The officer who does verification visited my house without a prior notice on a working day and left his number with my uncle and asked to call him. When I called him, he asked me to come to police station. He was asking more supporting documents for address proof even though I had submitted sufficient proofs to the passport office. When I was unable to find no more supporting documents, he was making weird faces (a typical face for asking bribe..) Then I understood and I had to pay him 300 rupees otherwise I wouldn't get my passport in time.
