Delhi government orders CAG audit of DIMTS
New Delhi, Jan 28 (IANS) After ordering audit of the financial accounts of power distribution companies, the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi Tuesday sought audit of the financial accounts of the Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS).
A joint venture between the Delhi government and the Infrastructure Development Finance Company Ltd. (IDFC), DIMTS has the task of operating infrastructure projects, including the controversial Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor in the city.
"The Delhi cabinet in its meeting held today (Tuesday) decided to seek an audit by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of the DIMTS," said a government statement.
The audit will be done since the entity's inception in 2006.
The decision was taken after transport companies alleged irregularities in the work of the DIMTS, a government official said.
