Brought SONY TV for my friend from Malaysia

• Customs Check and Clearance

I had brought Sony Bravia TV for my friend while coming from Malaysia on a official trip.

The cost of TV was within prescribed limits of Rs 25000. However the customs official indicated a rule that since I had not completed 3days of stay abroad the limit was reduced to Rs 12000. In view of above I was liable to pay customs duty for amount exceeding Rs 12000.

I paid the duty applicable and avoided to pay bribe.
