He wrote out the fine, I paid, and he left. He looked very disappointed.

Reported on September 14, 2013 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #36265

Once while travelling to Bangalore I was asked by a TTC to show my ticket and ID as I had a discounted ticket for a senior citizen.

I did not have one and told him so. He made a great fuss about the need for one and I apologized for the absence. At this point he should either have excused me or asked that I pay the penalty. He did neither and went away saying he will be back. After half an hour he did come back and asked me again for an identity card. I repeated again I had none.

Then he tells me I need to pay the penalty and pay the extra charge which was considerable. I told him I will pay the fine; at this point he leans towards me and sort of whispers to me if there is anything between us.

I did not immediately understand he was asking for a bribe. He repeated that statemen t to me once more and this time knowing what he was up to I said I have nothing to do with him and I am willing to pay the fine.

He wrote out the fine, I paid, and he left. He looked very disappointed.
