I did not pay Rs. 1000 + Rs. 500 to the Police
As you all might know, police verification is a stage in the passport making process and the police officers responsible to complete the verification ask you to cough up some money, else they might send a late report / negative report about your address.
I was asked to pay Rs. 1000 at the Thana and Rs. 500 to the CID Inspector to complete my verification. I was scared to get a negative report, and didn't want to pay the bribe either. So I called up the Vigilance department of Jharkhand Police and described the matter to them. I was strictly asked NOT to pay any money. After they inquired with the local DSP, my verification process was done with.
I got a clear report on the verification. I DID NOT PAY A BRIBE.
Please, let us all come together. I know it feels afraid in the beginning, but there are good people in the Police Department. Get some help, and live like an honest citizen.
