Shivajinagar Birth Certificate
My son was born in CSI (Church of South India) in Shivajinagar, Bangalore.
After weeks I went to get his birth certificate done. First they said one paper wasn't right. I went and got it corrected. Then it was another thing they wanted but I figured out that that wasn't really the issue. The man kept saying: come back tomorrow. I'd come back and he said: come another 3 days later. I realised he wanted me to pay a bribe. Then I asked him outright, whether he needed some money and he requested a big amount. I was angry at his abuse of his position so I requested his superiors phone number and name. He refused to give it. Finally I got it and called them. They also wouldn't do anything so I got the head honcho for the whole districts contact details. I got an appointment with her and she got it done. I paid nothing in bribes and the official demanding the bribes got a bad name but I don't know if they took any further action against him. I ended up paying around 16rs or something which was the genuine fee as against around 1,000rs he was demanding from me or the 50rs I noticed him taking as the minimum (honest) bribe from every Tom, Dick and Harry getting the Birth Certificates issued.
If you have time up your sleeve and don't care about wasting it and risking failure then going up the ********** of authority and reporting the bribe demanding will generally work the trick. Unless if you want to do something illegal or wrong then bribe paying is the way to go for you and the bribe system will suit you well.
