Traffic Police actually a Bane
I was stopped today by Traffic police at Ibblur signal as I unknowingly entered a one way signal. The cop stopped me and asked me to leave my scooter at 8:30 pm in the night or give the fine or pay him a bribe, I chose to pay the fine which was more than the bribe .The point is why should I contribute to his wealth which would be more than a million considering the fact that there were others near me who were paying bribes and were let lose . Who needs desperadoes and criminals when cops are not bothered about our safety asking me to leave my scooter at a pitch black area with zilch connectivity at the time, I even tried calling 100/1091 to report my concern but they are as useless as our government. I noted the name of the officer and called his supervisor at Madivala Traffic Police Station and expressed my concern ,he said that whatever happened was wrong and that a warning would be issued . Its not about the money or the warning but its about the the police and their insensitivity towards women and their attitude to fill their pockets instead of the security concerns even after so many rape,molestation cases being reported on a daily basis. If cops have such an outlook then I am happy to pay the fine rather than paying a bribe, why should I fill someone's pocket who who is not bothered about me as a person me as a woman.
