Guys, I am in the process of transferring my Apache from Bangalore to Pune. It took me six visits to the RTO till I could pay the road tax and other registration charges, and next thing is that I have to visit the RTO few more times in future. But that will happen after two months, by when Pune RTO will get a response from Bangalore RTO regarding my bike!! Well, good thing is I could do all these without paying a bribe (at least till now..not sure what happens after two months). Other side of the coin is, I had to use 3 leaves, and a lot of running to the RTO. Perhaps I could hire a broker, by paying him Rs 5500 + charges for some affidavits (around rs 600).. I thought I will save the money, earn the experience, and enlighten you all ;-) ..
On the first day, I had to meet an officer called Mr Kulkarni, to get a list of documents which I need to submit along with application. After making me wait for 20 minutes for no reason, he gave me the list..Its a huge list.
1) NOC from other state, two original copies
2) Original RC book
3) valid insurance xerox copy
4) valid emission control certificate (called PUC in pune)
5) Bike invoice receipt when you bought the bike. This is needed to calculate road tax. If you dont have the original, get a current date quote for your bike model from any dealer.
6) entry tax NOC of maharashtra state entry tax department if vehicle is brought within 30 months of registration.
7) address proof pf Pune. any one of these - election card, LIC policy, passport. If residing in a rent house then you can give rent agreement(registered/notarized), police intimation letter, a photo affidavit of address proof (costs rs 300, can be done in E-maha seva kendra) and owners permanent address proof.
8) affidavit of non stolen vehicle (costs rs 300. some lawyers within the RTO campus can do it)
9) Form no FT, 20, 26, 27, 33 (just ask for forms at the RTO office, forms are available for free). You have to put a pencil print of chasis number in all these forms. Easiest way to make a pencil print is to tear a piece of paper, use a HB pencil to take print, and then paste the piece of paper on the form.
10) NOC from police commissioners office. RTO will issue you a letter, addressed to police commissioners office. you have to take it to commissioners office, they take few days to issue you the letter. You will get the letter from RTO only after an officer (Mr Bhople) from RTO checks and verifies that all other documents are in order.
11) NCRB vehicle enquiry report (just goolgle NCRB and find out)
Once you have all these document, keep a copy of all these with you for safe keeping..
Once you have all these documents, go to Mr Bhople, he will check the documents, and issue the letter meant for commissioners office. Get the police report from commissioners office, and along with all other documents, present to Mr Bhople again. Now he will ask you to meet some lady siting beside him, who calculate the road tax. Get it calculated from her, and then meet some cashier guy who will collect the road tax, and registration charges. pay all these money, get receipts. Meet Mr Bhople again will all those documents. Now he will take your documents, will take some notes from the tax payment documents, and return the original tax receipt and registration charge receipt, and then ask you to meet him again after two months. In the mean time Pune RTO and Bangalore RTO will exchange some information, and hopefuly after two months you will get your new registration mark (at least i am hoping that..)
