Inspector called me in the middle of the night for passport check. Along with inconveniencing me, he demanded a Rs 300 bribe! 300 Rs in 2003 was a big amount! Felt very angry and didn't sleep that night. This incedence was the main cause for my trip to American for higher education. I am back in India now but, will not stay for long. I feel IAS officials are not doing their work as corruption has increased many folds in recent years. I don't wanna talk about police and politicians as they are hopeless.
