Bribe paid to a police inspector

My uncle was being investigated by a police officer on one perticular case, where he happened to be a witness for one trasaction and both the parties did fraud. Being a witness, my uncle was brought to police station and was put under enarmous mental pressure to pay bribe. Police threatened to haress him if he would not pay the bribe. Eventually, we had to pay 50,000 Rs to get him released. Initially, police officer was asking for Rs 5,00,000.
