Bribe to see the lord of tirupati Shri **********

Reported on October 27, 2010 from Tirupati , Andhra Pradesh  ι Report #30114

We landed in tirupati without any advance reservations. We didn't ticket offices are open only upto a time in the morning. Touts in tirupati can spot the unprepared tourist from a mile. They offered to get us 4 special tkts which will take us straight to sanctum sanctoram without a que que. They showed us the special entrance which seemed empty. Desperate for ********** my husband bargained and agreed. The special que que was the 100 rs que que which is empty upto a point and then meets with the regular que que ( dharma **********). There was stampede and mayhem and an hour and a half of sheer hell. 100 rs tkt was sold to us for over 1000 rs. 4 tkts. Obviously the unsold tkts are recycled this way to make disproportionate profits. Can't rule out that the devathanam itself is involved in this racket. And how can they create such night marish situation in the que que. There is no policing, no order, we have to pass through narrow lanes with very little fresh air. We deserved it for paying a bribe.
Plus every private car crossing from Tamil Nadu to Andhra has to pay a bribe of 750 rs upwards at the border toll post.
