Delay in sending the passport

- Passport Delivery
- Paid INR 3,500
We have applied for a change of address at Vizag passport office. Even after the police verification is done, the online status continue to show that the report has not yet been received. We have contacted the commissioner's office and brought the details of file number and other details about the police verification certificate and the date on which it was dispatched. Even after 40 days of the police report received by the passport office their online status continue to show that PVC not received. When we personally went to passport office there were close to 80 persons standing in a single queue. I standed in the queue thinking that I can get a chance to enquire about the passport. But the concerned person there is not processing the applicant's forms, insteady he is accepting forms by agents. Finally I was in queue for 3 hours and the time was up and we were thrown out. I had to approach a broker and pay a fee of 3500/- to get the work done. Finally it worked and I got my passport.
I have request to the moderator of this site. In my case we needed the passport urgently. Had there been no bribe system, we would not have got our passport in time. I am not supporting the bribe giving, but before rooting it out, please make the public transactions transparent. Without this you will be putting us in a situation where we have no control.
So, rather than thinking of eliminating bribes by legislation, please make the system transparent and computerize the system to the maximum extent possible. Interaction of the public authorities with the person should be brought to the minimum.
