Had to bribe the police to get the address verification done for Passport renewal

My Passport got expired in 2008 and I applied for renewal. Though I have shown all the required documents/proofs, I had to bribe the police to complete the verification formalities. I was in a hurry to get passport renewal done and that is why I paid the bribe. If I was not in hurry I wouldn't have given the bribe.
