All good Samaritans, please don’t get offended with title of my story, please read my full story.
I have left India around 10 years back to earn some dollars and to settle back in India, every year I make a point to visit India and spend time with my family and friends. Every time I come back to this foreign land my other friends who have come here before me ask one question
Will you go back to India and Settle there as you mentioned earlier
And my answer was
Yes, I will go back to India and settle there!
And since October 2009 to August 2010 I have had to travel to India around 3 times due to my father’s ill health, longest stay of three times is 3 months, this time my father struggled with his life for 40days in hospital and he could not make it.
After coming back to this foreign land I called up my here and said that I will never go back to India for settling back, I might probably go only for a visit to my family and friends.
Reasons for saying the above statement.
• I have see the sad state of medical conditions and corruption in administration and ICCU’s of corporate hospitals.
• No value for life.
• No respect for even the dead people
• Pathetic corruption which I have seen just to get my Father’s Death Certificate, Starting from hospital, municipal office, revenue office, cremation ground, etc name any department corruption is everywhere.
• Traffic is horrible.
• Water supply is pathetic.
• In summer with 45 degrees of heat people are expected to live with power-cuts.
• Only one language everybody understands is Money.
• I wanted to get a 3 phase meter for installing an AC in my house expecting that my father would come back home, and fees for 3 phase meter is 5000Rs and bribe I have to give 6000Rs and tell you what My was an employee of electricity board for 30years and retired from service without a single bad remark and not even installing a 3 phase meter when he was in service.
• Corporate hospitals sell medicines and other consumables at double or sometimes 3 times the price written as MRP.
• Everybody thinks that all NRI’s just pluck the dollars from the trees and come back to India. That’s not the truth, just go to neighbours house who does not like you and live there for one week, you will then understand how NRI’s live in foreign countries.
I can list hundred more examples above but that would be a waste of my time and readers time.
Only thing I can now say is there is quotation in Telugu “Maa Tatalu nethulu tagaru kavalante maa muthulu ********** chudandi” translation is “My Forefather have drank ghee, and if don’t believe smell our mouths”
We had a rich culture and heritage no doubt about it and I have the same values taught by my parents, I am sure that with those values I have I can never adjust back in India now.
I do have great respect towards India and I will always contradict when a foreigner talks bad about India and Indians, but ********** in my heart I feel guilty that I am contradicting the truth with foreigners.
I want to write a lot but I don’t find a point how it’s going to change the *******
