I had to pay bribe to get my Security Clearance for my international visa.

I went two three times and the head constable told me to ********** one Mr.********** (he smiled and continued that he is in charge of passport verification, the head constable who was talking to me had no idea on whats a security clearance for a consular application). I contacted Mr.********** and he was very polite (quite surprising for a cop). And he also asked my name and address, he a away on duty and told me to come the next working day. I came early and waited for him to turn up. As i am waiting a constable came well dressed, i thought he must be Mr.********** and i was right. He smiled and told me to sit. Picked my document from an dusted pile and nodded. Asked me where i stayed etc and then made me sign in two places and again smiled at me meaningfully, so understood immedaitely and gave him 200 and he was happy and told me good bye.
I saved a trip to home with the cop, i did not want to take them home where my single mother stays. So to avoid that i paid 200, no big deal. But i could see that he does atleast 10 of those verifications per day, so now you know what i am *******
