We need to get police verification done so as to get the passport.Generally rule is that police visit your place for the verification but in Kharghar (Navi Mumbai), you need to call the concerned officer, fix the appointment, fill up the form, then he will handover to you a very long list of documents required.The concerned officer then gets a chance to reject or demand any docs,keeping your file pending.To overcome this, generally all have to pay Rs 400-500 .
