Im guilty of paying a bribe

Im an individual who is very against paying a bribe, but even I had to compromise on my ethics. I never paid a bribe no matter how tough it was but had to when a traffic police caught me without a vehicle insurance. Was not carrying enough money to pay for a challan so compromised and paid a bribe amount of 100 rupees.
I feel sad that I had to violate my own conduct, I refused to pay a bribe for passport or for obtaining my driving license but had to give in for such a reason.
Moral: Every man will compromise at one time or the other even against our will if need be. It is time that the process changes, there shall be a shift in balance from people who pay & receive a bribe to people who will not pay a bribe.
