I paid Rs 50 to jump the queue for the general(unreserved) compartment while waiting for the Paschim Express. A railway police constable who was supposed to get everyone properly in line has started this business. Per train, he collects such an amount from about 50 people like me. All trains starting from BDTS have this issue.
