I paid a bribe as a "gift" so to speak! I had applied for my passport in tatkal scheme and I had to go to the Deputy commissioner's office to get it verified. They called up my area police station to verify the address, the local cop went to my place to verify the address and confirmed it. And I got the Deputy Commissioners (Not sure of the title) signature, and all was fine.

But when I came back home I found out that the cop took money to confirm my address.
