Paid bribe to police who was supposed to verify passport

I've paid 300 Rs/- Bribe for passport verification. All of my documents were correct, still police personnel said it is standard to take 300 Rs/- for passport verification process. I did not want to fight with them, because you know, in India, how police works. Basically with out money, they will not do anything.
