The provident fund inspector made a sudden inspection(after nearly 10 years) without any notice and asked us to pay contribution for all the trainees for whom we were not paying PF(The rule changes we were not aware of).We were showcaused by the Commissioner. We were asked to pay 13,50,000/= as contribution and penalty.Then he sent his consultant to us , a lawyer,who later changed the balance sheet and had the amount reduced to 45000/= on a bribe of 3 lakhs which was later negotiated and brought down to 1,75,000/.
