This happened on 27th Dec 2014, around 11:30 am at Doddabelavangala Taluk office.
My family has a piece of land to be surveyed. The request was put some two months ago. A response came on 25th Nov 2014. I met the officials at Doddabelavangala Taluk office - only the peon of the Surveyor. On that day I was confident to get the job done without paying bribe. I did not pay any money. Then the problem started. The office would call me everyweek end telling they were not able to either locate the village, or the people or something else. Then I was told by my friend to pay SOMETHING and get the job done.
So on 26th Dec I called back the peon of the surveyor. He told the surveyor has moved out of the office and somebody else is in his place.
Finally I met him and had to pay Rs 500 to get the file moved - the worst part the file is somewhere out of the office :(. I am told I will have to TAKE CARE of the surveyor also to get the job completed.
I would like to know if we should continue paying bribe and get job done or can we take some strict measures on these people. I want to slap him tight...but he is a GOVERNMENT SERVANT GOD (or MODI) has to help us.
