We were married in Delhi and had a reception in Vizag. We applied for our marriage certificate in Vizag. The official fee for the application was 10 Rupees. The staff at registrar's office gossiped, looked at our passports, asked some pointless questions and told us,"we could pay as much we like". After pocketing the money, this staffer assured us the marriage certificate would be ready for pick up after 8:30 PM. Just, that their work day is supposed to end at 5 PM. Bribes make babus work longer!
