Bribe paid to avoid delays

• Customs, Excise and Service Tax

When we file our monthly returns, which are even paid electronically, we still need to submit the paper reports and get the same stamped.

For this, a Rs 1000 bribe is demanded, which we pay as the cost (in time and hassle) of resisting is greater.

Moving towards entirely electronic filing would be appreciated as it would do away with this petty graft culture.
