I do not remember the date, it could be 1999 or 2000. However I just want to report for record sake. I came from KSA, landed in Bangalore, I can guarantee there was nothing customable in my luggage, but the customs officer tried to open all my baggage and made obvious gestures for money. Me being new traveller at that time, tired from a long journey gave away Rs 50. The officer repeated twice and enquired that I am giving him the amount happily and not with force....I said yes happily and walked away...
