Customs cleared without bags going through channels

There are so many agents hanging around at baggage claim and customs area. I had lot of gold undeclared so I paid the bribe to one of the agents who came and asked if I want the customs to be cleared. I said yes and my bags were allowed to pass without inspection. I regret it now. It is this easy to pass the security. People can bring in anything to our country. Its very bad.
