Bribe to take personal and small amount of gold jewelry

At the airport customs, i was told that carrying personal jewelry was not permitted unless it was disclosed and duty was applied. They showed me some document which had this clause saying that the jewelry would have to be sent for 'weighing' and that I would be told later how much duty had to be paid. Obviously i wouldnt leave anything with these fools so had to pay a bribe to get my tiny old and greasy gold bangle through customs
