I was coming from Singapore and had got a desktop there since the said desktops are very expensive over here. Did not know the customs rule which as told by the customs guy was Beyond 25K INR watever u get, u have to pay a customs duty of 10% on the residual amount. This amount was coming to some INR 10K in my case. I did not have this money and told the customs guy that i will surrender the desktop and come later after checking the rules on my own and after bringing the money. The customs guys discouraged me from doing that saying..u will get in trouble of lot of paperwork...just pay us some money and get away with it...they sid it will waste a lot of my time and wen i asked if i could call my husband they said it wont be allowed. So i paid 3k inr..wat i had and left the place..I had to hide it in my passport and give the passport to one of the jnr as if he was checking it. He took out the money and gave the passpot back.
