Forced to give bribe at ********** ********** International airport
I was heading chennai from US and I had a transfer at New delhi airport. I always use two laptops, one personal and one for official use. All international flights and customs allow this and im pretty sure even indian government allows this. A custom constable stopped me to check the stuff im carrying. It was a random check and he asked me for the number of laptops and honestly i replied its 2. He said Indian government doesn't allow 2 laptops and all the constables out there doesn't know english a bit. I was trying to convey them that one is official laptop but there weren't ready to listen. I told them to show me the customs office so that I will pay whatever fine and carry on cause i had to catch a flight soon. But the constables told there is no official in the main office now and i had to wait till morning to get to ********** them. I was standing in the same place for an hour but of no use. They finally asked me to pay Rs.500 by writing it in a piece of paper and I had to give it to them to catch my next flight. I was visiting india after 3 years and the moment i landed in the country , I had to face this kind of corruption.
