Inspector Vinodini at CONCOR took bribe to release our goods

Reported on December 31, 2011 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #3016

As part of shifting residence to India, we had shipped used goods. The inspector at CONCOR who assessed the value of the goods refused to give us an invoice listing taxes for the used personal items we had shipped to India. She simply said that 'I don't have it with me'. She insisted that we pay Rs. Fifty thousand. Our shipping agent negotiated and finally she agreed to Rs. 15000. She added a stipulation that we must not ask her for the exact tax value and that our passport will only reflect one fourth of the amount we paid. Once we agreed to pay, she said that we could pick up our stuff the same afternoon.
